Spirit Animal Reading for Humanity – The Cat
This week we have another more relatable and lovable animal.
As soon as I posted about Dog, Cat showed up, rolling her eyes.
“Don’t be such a desperate people pleaser,” she said to Dog, before turning tail and waltzing out of the room.
I knew because she had shown up that she had a message for us — but in typical Cat manner, it was going to be given on her terms and in her time.
A cat will calmly watch and observe, but if things get too much, too loud, too aggressive — Cat is out of there.
She doesn’t take that energy with her; she simply removes herself and finds somewhere better to be.
We don’t have to get caught in someone else’s drama.
We don’t have to stay if things start feeling rough.
We don’t have to respond to the angry person spewing poison on social media.
Instead, we can learn from Cat — observe first, then decide how we wish to respond.
Decide where to focus our precious energy.
Yes, occasionally we have to stand up and fight — but how often do we do it just because our ego has been triggered?
Don’t let other people’s egos pull you in.
Let them feel they are right if that’s what they need.
And remember that old question:
Do I want to be right, or do I want to be happy?
These are lessons in boundaries and self-respect — in knowing when to engage, when to step back, and when to walk away with grace.
Cat reminds us that we teach others how to treat us by the energy we allow and the behaviour we tolerate.
When we stay where our energy is constantly drained, we turn away from our own well-being.
But when we choose to pause, breathe, and step away, we reclaim our power.
Boundaries aren’t walls; they’re sacred choices. They say, “This is where my peace lives, and I choose to stay here.”
Self-respect is remembering that not every conversation deserves your reply, not every battle needs your sword, and not every storm requires your presence.
Like Cat, we can learn to guard our energy with quiet confidence — trusting that our calm is our greatest strength.
And while I was waiting for Cat, Eagle was circling overhead.
So next week, we’ll find out what message Eagle has for humanity.
If Cat’s message speaks to your heart, you might also enjoy exploring her deeper teachings in the companion post, Wisdom of the Cat — a soulful reflection on grace, presence, and energetic boundaries. Together, these two pieces create a beautiful harmony: one invites you to understand Cat’s wisdom, and the other to live it.
